A FIRST!

WELL, this month marks the eleventh anniversary of us doing THE SHAMAN’S DEN… every week, sometimes twice a week live! But tonight we had a mind blowing first. We had a hip hop female artist booked. As a lot of you know, we transform the room in our house in to the set for every show… Set up lights, P.A., etc… among other preparations.

So Keldamuzik aka Diva showed up on time for her set up . She was with two guys. Mikee was setting her up. But five minutes into the set up, one of the guys got a call. We now think it was a bogus pre-programed call. In stage voices, he said he needed to go. She said she wished he could stay. Then all three went outside AND RAN TO THEIR TWO CARS… and I do mean ran FAST… and drove away!

NON- PROFESSIONAL doesn’t begin to cover it!

Glad I got that off my cork-jacket!

Re: GREAT SHOW

Hi Frank,

YOu are awesome. I tuned in because my son Sean Ongley and girlfriend Kelly
were on. But, I looked around your website and watched your show , as I am
doing right now…and I think it is great. I am all for free speech and I
just love this whole idea.
Keep it up !

Sandy Ongley

thanks, Sandy, for the kind words! It was a great show… We covered a
lot… And dug up a lot of dirt!

thanks, judy!

it was a very effective, inspiring show last night with you! We talk the same language and from the similar experiential history. Here is what my students [who are coming to your yard sale Saturday] wrote:

“Soon we were handing over the stream, and the show was starting. Right away, we were blown away at the fact that Frank had this person on his show! “Up there” … It was that sense of those “6 degrees of separation” suddenly being collapsed into none, and being face to face with history that we have seen/read so much about, in such an immediate and personal way. Judy Gumbo Albert had not only lived through the late 60s and 70s as a “Yippie”, right alongside Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, and the others, but she now lived in Berkeley, and had a perspective on life and history that felt so much like ours … we were blown away at her stories … we really experienced too what Linda said afterward about feeling like “coming home” when you meet and talk to someone like Judy. And then there was the level of being able to put out a conversation like this into the world, to put these realities and this view of history out there, where there is so much misunderstanding, intentional misrepresentation of the history and the historical figures, like Leary, Hoffman, Rubin, etc… was amazing. This is the show that BTV would like to squeeze out! ”

I am looking forward to doing it again!

Btw, both Paul Krassner and John Sinclair endorsed me when I ran for president.

Hey, Paul! Judy ratted you out about performing in Berkeley! Next time let me know and we will come.

Re: hi, guys!

Hey Frank, Linda,

I did at last re-edit & reformat your great Berkeley interview with Penny for a 4 part (28 minute each) Lower East Side Biography Project special series. I’m sending you two copies of a DVD with the 4 programs. It really turned out great and we plan to run them some time in July. I’ll let you know when I figure out exactly when. I mistakingly called the programs Shaman’s Den but I reckon that’s not critical for the New York audience and an excellent title in any case.

I will drop DVD’s in the post tomorrow to the address below. Copy freely.

Hope you both are well.
Steve

can’t wait to see it, Steve! It is a high honour to be included in the LOWER EAST SIDE BIOGRAPHY PROJECT!

And, Penny, the next time you come out, we should get together!

thank you for everything, and see you guys next time.

(from Matthew Ivan:)

hi,
I got the new plain ticket.
So, I will return to NYC this Thursday.

I’m sorry for all the things.
And I will go see a doctor in NYC just in case.

I feel much better,
but i still feel sick a little bit.

So, I think I better return to NYC as soon as possible anyway,

thank you for everything.
I appreciate that,

thank you.

that is for the best because I could have only fit you in Sunday. Last night at one in the morning I was the guest lecturer in a 3-hour online class via skype video phone with grad students in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, and Hong Kong! And tonight I am doing a panel show about the killing of Oscar Grant by the BART cops… With members of his family and activists. Busy but rich life!

Let me know when you are coming back here again and I will book you!

Frank Moore
