Here are some pictures from the night we performed for the folks at Luver.com. It was such a unique and amazing experience that we will never forget!
Frank’s words to introduce the show made my hair stand up – quite poetic and thoughtful.

We had an amazing and unique experience performing and recording a private show for the folks at Luver.com. Frank Moore (known for running for President and for his radical performance art and music) is a witty interviewer, who has a great bite to his questions that just makes you giggle. I loved the experience – and performing in his super colorful Bezerkeley home for him, Linda and Mikee was just one of those nights you can’t forget. They are each very creative and kind-hearted, and put a lot of time and effort into interviewing, filming and broadcasting band shows.

… And yeah, I don’t know of any- ANY- KALX interviews where questions were pre-approved. (That’s probably why we’ve never had one with a President of the US, ha ha ha) The one I did with the NY Dolls this year was completely on the fly, and that was set up thru their super-professional management agency. We’ve had thousands of artists on the station over the past 45 years much huger than this group with no pre-approved questions.

yep, they’re teens. Their manager is Mr. Jiggle or some such name! You are quite right. Not only did he blow an opportunity for them, but he established a bad reputation for them.
pre-established questions at best makes for a boring show, no juice! Only a couple of people have asked for that in the eleven years of the show. A more common request is what areas will we cover. How should I know!? A conversation is an exploring journey!

I agree so much with everything you said here. Protect the image and don t trust their bands. We don t like this kind of situation either. One chance, we don t have this kind of request too often.

And it looks like we are doing a special late night show tomorrow with Seth of N.Y.C. based Dufus… Another of my personal favorites! We play almost everything on LUVER. But we only play our favorites in our car! Both Dufus and Carrie play in our car!

Well Frank, this band would be cancel on our radio show too, because it s always impromptu interviews and like you, we receive a lot of bands, some are known and other less and it s pretty rare this kind of situation. What are they scared about? Oh welll!!! 🙁

hi! This is Frank. First I do the interview impromptu. So nobody knows what I will ask. So if the boys are uncomfortable with that, we should not do the show. If they are comfortable with that, how much set up time do they need?
