RE: update (Rafael)

Glad to hear you’ve got a good and Humane doctor ( man, I’m starting to read “confessions of an economic hitman from Perkins and it just kind of pushes you back to activism a bit 🙂

Frank, as i’m allways consulting you before such great directing decision, and as I was slicing your election speech, I cristalized in my mind the way I wan’t the voice collage to come out :

Now, I wan’t to create phrases out of sliced words like “I”, “am”, “not”, “political”, “education”, “you”, “or”, “military”, etc…

Somewhat of an Aiku 🙂

Therefor, this collage would be the representation of a “force”, rather than a political campaign per say.

Ex: We will shut down nuclear generators, stop arms race, prejudice, etc…

I’ll be using the “We” instead of “I”, in order to represent that “force”, that “community”.

The end of the track will contain “Frank for President” : just thought that we are in 2010 NOW and that what you fought for DO NOT BELONG TO A MUSEUM ! 😉

It is, of course, impressionist as you allready know that I’m this kind of composer ;

I lately though of remastering the track ( when finished ! ) in the future and ad some some brainwaves editing ;

Stay as well until next time 🙂

funny… Years back the ART INSTITUTE OF CHICAGO hired me to do a lecture and some other stuff. We didn’t know anything about the place. But it was all expenses paid kind of gig [a rarity!]… So… They put us in a fancy hotel. So the day before the lecture we walked to the lecture hall to check it out. It was in a bigtime museum! And all through the museum were my writings [to promote the lecture]. The piece they chose to xerox was where I described museums as graveyards for dead art! I LOVED THE IRONY!

RE: update (Suzy)

Sorry to hear this Frank. Well, at least you don’t need the PEG, which is a good thing. Are there other ways to get it out than surgery? Speaking of surgery, Max has to get a tumor removed on Tuesday. Sigh. We are all falling apart, but we are all staying together! Happy Thanksgiving 🙂 Love, Suzy

great visit

it was great to see you guys and good to see an ongoing recovery…I’m sending an article on the PEG stuff…as far as I can determine the removal depends on the type of tube and some are meant to be removed through the mouth. A second opinion is a very good idea, as it seems that a surgical removal is rare. However, there may be other options. And the through the mouth method seems like it’s fairly routine with relatively few complications…but they do exist, and are bad. I’ll keep looking into it. Anyhow Marjorie really enjoyed meeting you all and sends her love…hope to get down for a gig one of these days…love Steve

ah, yes, Steve! It was fun hanging out with you two! We have been hanging out together for over forty years now, you and I! And we may be hanging out together for years to come!
I have asked Kerbavaz, my ENT doctor who I trust, what are the odds of something going wrong in the operation. We will see!
Great photo /drawing!
tell Marjorie hi. She is great!

Re: sad news

Dear Frank,

Sorry to hear about your brother. That’s sad. I haven’t lost a sibling yet, but I can imagine it tugs at the heart strings real strong.
Glad I was able to spread the love to him. And he to you, and round and round.
All the best.

more directions to the plant…

if I indeed had a plant at POW POW POW…

yes, having a plant does gives people permission. but that is just one layer of what having a plant does. Rubbing me erotically under my robes arousing, practically unseen, generates energy unlimited by taboos. People feel this energy and because they can’t quite see what you are doing under my robes, they amplify the energy unlimited by not knowing for sure. It is important that your rubbing me erotically is as explicit /direct /firm as possible. It is a tanpanic performance.

PANTAN combines various kinds of orgasm [explosions of energy] with ontonse [a regular implosion of energy] within an intensely small/intimate nonlinear play. These explosions and implosions feed off one other, creating a sustainable state of enjoyable pleasure. The sustainable state of pantan can become the context of your whole life. Pantan is the state of turn-on, aroused enjoyment of life and of being together. Within pantan creativity, inspiration, a sense of awe and newness, etc. always are at work.

Tanpanic performances are altered states of physical trance, without the limits of morals, for different magical nonlinear change, in a totally different nonindividualistic context than the normal cultural context. We will call this context “tanpan”. Within tanpan, all of the aspects of this physical play are drained of both their normal and hidden meanings and qualities, so that they can be used by the magic through the shaman to effect both local and nonlocal changes. These physical trance rituals of tanpan are magical rather than personal. Tanpanic trances arouse the state of pantan to the surface of being.

Grace watches us on BTV

(Erika wrote:)

I showed Grace who does the laundry at Chaparral House the poncho I was sewing for Frank to wear to the performance on Saturday. I told her it was is the first performance since being in the hospital and he would be the erotic greeter. She said that she watches us on BTV and has seen me, seen all of me, all of us. She asked how old Frank was and she said he was a little older than her. She said she knew Frank and Linda had been together for a long time. I told her about the rest of us, Mikee, Corey, Alexi. I told her more about Frank’s hospital stay and how well he was doing now and she said with tears in her eyes how happy she was that Frank was ok that he was doing so well now. I told her about all the emails that Frank had gotten while he was in the hospital how much people all around the world needed Frank. She really saw that, got that and was so happy that Frank was doing so well. It was like she knew us deeply through watching us on BTV. I gave her a couple of Frank’s post cards of his oil paintings, “Superman” and “Self Portrait”. She was really happy to get them.

we really don’t know how many people are affected by the work in general and by the B-TV show in particular… Or how deeply they are affected. We are lucky that we are always getting such profound feedback! It fuels the work! And makes me humble!

Yes, everything is closed…cocooned… Shyness is a launching pad to be a butterfly. But if you have to break free at some point. If you don’t, you’ll just rot in there 😀

long interview

(Steve Emanuel wrote:)

it’s always amusing how little people who weren’t there misunderstand the hippie daze…maybe it’s the urge to make slogans and ascribe labels to it all…the spontaneity and exploration that was the primary mover of the times may never exist again in that freshness and ecstatic psychedelic splendor…for some of us, those were seminal and life-altering experiences that set us on the wonderfully weird trips that have brought us thus far…it’s always good to hear that there’s still some who stay crazy…keep up the fight…love Steve

ah, Steve! One of the ways we can truly tell the true power /influence of the period is by how completely they try, if not to totally erase it from the collective memory, to discredit it, make fun of it, belittle it by revisionist history!

You and I have known each other since 1968. We have lived together off and on communally through the years. And recently we have played together in my band. That should give them an idea of the real deep power of the sixties!

RE: today at BTV (Dr. Suzy) III

Haha. Well nudity alone isn’t necessarily erotic. After all, Adam and Eve weren’t eroticized by each other’s nakedness until they ate that apple…

Eros lies in playfulness. Thus the appropriateness of that great word you coined: EroPLAY 😉

Wish you were on Twitter, Frank! You should be tweeting about all this stuff 🙂 And posting stuff on the Facebook Farm is just not the same.

Much love
Suzy

yep, Suzy! Standing nude for thirty minutes, shifting your weight back and forth onto one foot to another ain’t sexy! But I just checked her other videos on line and she actually sits… Still not sexy, still stiff… But at least there is hope!

Yes, sometimes what embarrasses you is the key to what really moves you. And it sounds like they are, at least, embracing their embarrassment, so that’s a step in the right direction. And at least they are keeping public access TV going, which is more than I can say for their counterparts in LA…

* * * * *

it might be more jealousy than embarrassment!
They have a new show, MY NAKED TRUTH. A nude woman standing un- erotically in an empty room interviewing a person also nude, standing un- erotically, talking about new age stuff. Extremely uncomfortable and stiff!
